I’ve never made homemade Macaroni & Cheese before. Ever. Sad, I know. BUT…tonight I did!!! And it was fantastic! My husband said so. So, it passes my “let’s add this to our dinner menu” test. And that’s a great thing around here! I based my recipe off of a recipe I found off Pinterest.

I added and changed a few ingredients. Here’s my version.
2 1/2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
1 stick of butter (salted or unsalted, your preference. I used salted.)
10 slices of yellow American cheese
1 small block Velveeta cheese
1 cup milk
3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Bring water to a boil in a pot for the pasta. I never measure how much, I just eyeball it. Add macaroni and let boil until almost done. While pasta is boiling, spray a 9 by 13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Make a layer of cheese and butter in the bottom of the dish. I just chopped the butter into cubes and little squares. Once macaroni is cooked, pour it over the cheese and spread evenly. Top the macaroni with remaining butter and cheese. Top with shredded cheddar. Place in the oven at 375 degrees for 35 minutes. You’ll know it’s done when its all bubbly and the cheese is turning a golden brown. Deliciousness!
